Working with Alternative Contractors

We have recently been requested to undertake a comprehensive topographical survey for a large residential farm property. This survey is a key step in the client’s plans to remove and replace a huge old asbestos garage and outbuildings whilst considering the landscape and safe removal of the waste. The buildings, a potential health hazard due to its asbestos content, required professional assessment and removal before any further construction work could proceed.

In this project, we were proud to collaborate with Safe Environment, an expert in asbestos management and removal. Safe Environment was commissioned to carry out a thorough assessment of the garage, identifying the extent of the asbestos which was mainly contained within the roof. The removal process adhered to the strictest health and safety regulations.

Our Role in the Project

Our topographical survey provided the client with detailed, accurate data on the land’s characteristics, including contours, elevations, drainage patterns, and the position of existing structures. This information is critical for ensuring the safe demolition of the asbestos garage, outbuildings and planning the replacement structure. By mapping the site’s physical features and constraints, we delivered valuable insights that will help engineers and architects make informed decisions during the construction phase.

The survey also helped to identify potential challenges that could arise during the project, such as drainage issues, boundary considerations, and proximity to other structures. With our detailed topographical data, the project team can develop solutions that will assist in the further development of the space.

Collaboration with Safe Environment

In the world of property development and construction, success hinges on the ability to bring together a range of expertise and skills. Whether it’s a small residential renovation or a large-scale commercial project, working with multidisciplinary teams is essential to ensure that all aspects of the project are addressed effectively, efficiently, and safely. Working alongside Safe Environment, we coordinated efforts to ensure both the survey and the asbestos removal were carried out smoothly.

Future-Focused, Safe Property Development

This project underscores our commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality surveying services that provide clients with the insights they need to move forward confidently in their property development projects. Whether it’s a residential or commercial property, a topographical survey is a crucial foundation that helps avoid unforeseen challenges, particularly when dealing with hazardous materials like asbestos.
