Surveying Services in Kendal

Kendal Central Hotel

We were engaged to provide a comprehensive suite of survey services for the redevelopment of the Premier Inn Kendal Central Hotel. This project necessitated a collaborative effort from our entire team to perform a topographical survey, a utility survey, and elevation measurements. Each of these surveys played a critical role in informing the redevelopment plans and ensuring the project’s smooth and successful execution.

The topographical survey provided detailed information about the terrain and existing features of the hotel site, capturing essential data on ground levels, contours, and other physical characteristics. This information was fundamental in planning the layout and design of the new development, ensuring that all elements of the site were accurately documented and considered.

The utility survey involved mapping the location and condition of underground utilities such as water pipes, electrical cables, and sewage systems. Using advanced detection technologies, we were able to provide a comprehensive map of these utilities, which is crucial for avoiding potential conflicts during construction and ensuring the safety and efficiency of the redevelopment process.

Elevation measurements were taken to document the vertical dimensions and architectural features of the existing structures. This data was used to create accurate elevation drawings, which are essential for architectural planning and design. These measurements ensured that any new construction would be seamlessly integrated with the existing building, preserving its aesthetic and structural integrity.

The project at Premier Inn Kendal Central Hotel highlighted our capability in managing complex surveying tasks for large-scale redevelopment projects. The integration of topographical surveying, utility mapping, and elevation measurements ensured that the redevelopment plans were based on precise and comprehensive data. This thorough approach was vital for minimising risks, avoiding unexpected issues during construction, and facilitating a smooth redevelopment process.

This project is part of a larger plan by Whitbread’s to convert 112 of its owned restaurants into new Premier Inn Hotels, adding 3,500 rooms the Premier Inn network.
